1. Rehabilitation and recovery from injury and disease can be a slow long-term gradual PROCESS. Patient's should understand that progress is slow sometimes stagnant with bouts of regression. Ultimately function is restored. 2. Therapy must be performed one-to-one, hands-on, and last at least 45 minutes. 3. Treatment should not be comfortable: in fact it can hurt! The functional movements of life can be complicated just for normal activities of daily living. Patient's have to realize that life is demanding and tough. Therefore therapy must be DEMANDING and TOUGH! Hands-on treatment can be painful but rewarding! 4.
